Dr David Silverstein


Dr. Silverstein grew up right here on Long Island in Suffolk County and attended Stony Brook University where he completed his undergraduate degree, his Doctor of Medicine, and his residency training in dermatology. During medical school, he graduated at the top of his class and was selected to the prestigious medical honor society, Alpha Omega Alpha, as a junior member, one of only 3 people to be selected out of 125 in his class. During his residency training, he served as Chief Resident. He scored at the top percentile on his board certifying exam. He is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor of Dermatology at Stony Brook where he sees patients during half the week and is the Director of the Inpatient Consultative Service and thus provides care to the most complicated dermatology patients on Long Island. Additionally, he actively teaches dermatology residents and is the Director of the Clinical Clerkship in Dermatology for the School of Medicine. Dr. Silverstein has published multiple articles and continues to do so in major dermatology journals, having authored more than a half dozen manuscripts in the last 2 years.

In addition to these roles, prior to founding Islandwide Dermatology, Dr. Silverstein saw patients privately in Port Jefferson and Patchogue. Dr. Silverstein is honored to now provide care right here in Ronkonkoma. His philosophy is that he treats every patient as a family member and only provides the highest quality, ethical medicine. He believes in a patient-centered approach and wants every patient to feel comfortable with their care.

Dr. Silverstein provides care in all aspects of dermatology including common dermatologic ailments, complex medical dermatology, surgical dermatology, and cosmetic dermatology.

Dr. Abraham was born and raised in Potomac, Maryland. He attended the University of Maryland, College Park, where he earned his degree in Molecular Biology and Genetics and graduated with honors in Cell Biology and Molecular Genetics. While at Maryland, Dr. Abraham won numerous awards, and research fellowships, including a prestigious research fellowship award in the Dermatology Branch at the Center of Cancer Research at the National Cancer Institute (NCI/NIH).

Dr. Abraham completed his M.D. and Ph.D. degrees, as well as his Dermatology Residency, at Stony Brook University. During his residency, Dr. Abraham served as the Chief Resident of both the Northport Veterans Affairs Medical Center (Northport VAMC) in Northport, and of the Stony Brook Dermatology Residency Program in Stony Brook.

During his residency training, Dr. Abraham personally diagnosed, treated and managed numerous patients with various skin diseases. Examples include skin diseases in both children and adults, including but not limited to, acne, eczema, psoriasis, warts, hives, skin cancer, rosacea, vasculitis, blistering diseases (pemphigus and pemphigoid), etc. With a special interest in skin cancer, Dr. Abraham has also successfully diagnosed and treated patients with a wide range of skin cancer, including basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, melanoma, and cutaneous lymphoma, and has operated on numerous patients with skin cancer.

While Chief Resident at Stony Brook, Dr. Abraham worked on the Inpatient Dermatology Consultative Service at Stony Brook University Hospital. During this time Dr. Abraham was directly responsible for the care of the sickest patients with complex dermatologic problems. Dr. Abraham has published, and continues to publish articles in peer-reviewed journals.

Dr. Abraham is honored to now provide care in all offices of IslandWide Dermatology. Dr. Abraham is committed to practicing the highest quality, ethical medicine, and prides himself on a patient-centered approach to the practice of medicine.

Megan Dauscher, PA-C


Megan Dauscher is a Long Island native and was born and raised on the island. She attended college at Hofstra University where she graduated Summa Cum Laude and went on to attend Hofstra University’s Physician Assistant Studies program which she graduated from with a Master’s Degree with Distinction and received the Overall Excellence Award.

She has a true passion for Dermatology and provides care in all aspects of the specialty including general dermatological ailments, surgical and cosmetic dermatology. Her compassionate nature and patient centered approach to care has fostered a strong practice amongst the adolescent and pediatric population. She now provides care in the Riverhead and Ronkonkoma locations.
